Spring color splashes

moth on clover

Spring is finally here when the colors splach everywhere. This particular splash loved the clover so much getting a photo was no challenge. The hummingbirds are back and buzzing around the feeder. Momma and poppa bluebird have 5 hatchlings in the bluebird box. The dragonflies are flitting around by the hundreds and the toads are once again parked under the security light at night.

Take a deep breath, ahhhhhh…..spring!

A variegated fritillary (Euptoieta claudia)! Aren’t they beautiful?

And I’m with you. Winter might be my favorite season, but usually by the end of it I’m longing for some color, some buzzing insects, some creeping spiders, some sign of life from the trees and grass. When spring finally explodes into life, I feel like I’ve overdosed on a drug.

Every day is another explosion of critters and colors. Thanks for the ID on the moth, I knew you’d come through for me – the ID challenged. Thanks for stopping by!
